What is your availability like?
As we just opened it still remains to be seen but based on the use of the monthly rooms by bands and requests for rooms thus far it seems that Monday to Thursday will generally be the busiest evenings of the week however, we do run a waiting/cancellations list. If you let us know what sessions you require, we give you a call the moment the booking becomes available. There is no obligation for you to take it. Friday to Sunday evening availability is much better. It does pay to try and book in advance as much as possible so you get the room and time you want. Day time sessions are also easier to book with weekends being busier than weekdays, but again booking in advance is recommended. top

What are your session times?
We don't set any session times, so you can start and finish at whatever time that suits. There is no maximum limit to the length of session you can book. However, for full band bookings we set a 2-hour minimum session time. Our hours are noon to midnight every day. top

Do you have storage?
We offer limited storage for bands that use our hourly rooms and wish to do so on a regular basis. There is a small fee and space is limited so please inquire. top

Do you do block bookings / lockouts?
We will be offering our largest room (20x24) up for block bookings and lockouts. Please contact us for details at this time. top

How much is a session?
To start we are keeping it simple and charging a flat rate of $10/h + tax for the use of any of our three hourly rooms regardless of the size of the room you choose or the gear you require. This may change but there will be plenty [months] notice if it is to change. top

Can I record in the room?
Right now, no. We are considering a basic setup to alllow for the recording of sessions for purposes of recalling songs/ideas.This will be dependent on interest. top

What's the backline like? Is it in good condition?
All of our backline is checked on a weekly basis and we do everything we can to ensure that the equipment is in full working order. If you do encounter a problem please let us know as soon as it occurs and we will take a look. If it can't be fixed there and then we will immediately replace the equipment with something equivalent or superior. Gear is also checked before and after each session to ensure at the start of your session all gear is functioning properly. Not reporting damaged gear when you find will leave you responible for it if you report it when you leave. top

Any snacks/drinks available?
Our snack bar will be up and running very shortly. To start we will have pop, juice, water, chips, and chocolate bars. If there is anything you would like in particular please feel free to request it and we will see what we can do. top

Do you have strings and things for sale?
We will. In time at the front counter you will be able to purchase guitar and bass strings; picks; drum heads; drum sticks; tape, batteries, ear plugs, and more. Our stock will reflect what people jamming here need and we will be looking to improve our offerings, so if there is anything you need/want us to stock, please let us know. top

Can I use your rooms for other types of rehearsals?
Being open in the afternoons certainly allows for the possibility of additional uses. While we are not against letting people use the rooms at night for other purposes, where our main business is providing bands a place to rehearse/jam and due to the noise from bands playing, it may not be preferable for other uses. top

Do you have any monthly rooms?
We do but they are currently booked and there is already a waiting list. If you would like to be added to the list please stop by and introduce yourself when you get the chance. top

Where are you?
We are at 2304 Hunter St (in the basement), directly across the street from Musicstop, right around the corner from the Commons. Please click on 'Contact/Find Us' for more information and a map. top

What's the relation with Musicstop?
Lots of people have asked if Musicstop is in any way part owner of the space. The gear for the rooms was purchased from them and they have offered their assistance in ways that will help get the word out about the space. And of course the location is mutually beneficial for both businesses. Other than that they have no involvement in the space or how it is run. top

Do you have a cancellation period or charge?
Our new [Aug. 2005] policy is simply call and cancel if you can not make it in. At any time. Even five minutes beforehand will be accepted [although the more notice the better]. Once the start of your booking begins you're considered a no show [see below]

Bands will be charged for any bookings that are not cancelled in advance and no one shows up for.

Additionally, when booking time, you will be charged for what you booked even if you don't use it all. It is better to book less time in the hopes that you can extend your time than to book more than you need/will use. top

Are you open holidays?
Normally, yes.
We will be closed 3 days over Christmas [Dec. 24,25, and 26]. We will also be closing early at 6PM on New Year's Eve [Dec.31st] and remaining closed on New year's day [Jan 1st]. We will open again on the 2nd.

Normally though, on holidays you will find us open. We did not close down for any holidays since opening in late April this year.

We will be closed for a weekend sometime in the New Year around our 1 year anniversary to do some work and upkeep on the space.

Any closings, for any reason will be posted on the homepage as soon as we know. top
